Hopelessness is a very real thing. It can happen when someone is going through difficult times or painful experiences. And, it can happen without specific reasons. Maybe someone feels overwhelmed, trapped, or insecure; there might be challenges that someone is facing where there seems like no solution is ever possible.
While the feelings of hope may not always be present, I need to trust that God will redeem even the darkest situations. There is always hope no matter how frustrated you feel. There is always hope no matter how much pain and heartache you’ve endured. Hope always exists, even if you get in a fight with your best friend, there is hope; even if you have been bullied, there is hope; even if you’ve encountered the darkest of situations, there is hope.
The Lord desires that we know the truth about Him: that He is kind, that He never withholds good things from us, that He will and does provide for us daily, that He works miracles, that He is present, that He is all knowing and all capable, that He will NOT abandon us, that He will NOT leave us orphaned. While I don’t have everything figured out, I choose daily cling to the truth that He is faithful to His promises and that He is a God of adventure – twists and turns make the journey more exciting. He is Love Himself, and if there’s one thing that I know for certain, it is that there is no fear in love. Surrendering your fear is a daily choice, and growing in trust is a never-ending process. It is not easy.
