The love for my family

I had an opportunity and I took it. I acted on impact and with no hesitation. I had booked my flight. It was final, I was going to Mexico for 3 weeks. I was going alone, as in without my parents or sisters. I was going to meet up with my family, and I would be staying with family until I leave. I was very fortunate enough to have this opportunity arise and that I was able to get the days off at work. I decided to go for 2 main reasons, a) because I don’t start nursing school until October 22nd and b) because I haven’t seen my family in over a year and a half and well since I had the opportunity I didn’t think twice to buy my ticket.

I am so thankful with God for blessing me with such beautiful family members. I absolutely adore everybody and their presence, especially since I don’t get to see them very often. My family from my mom’s side lives in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. It has always been my favorite place to travel to. Family has always been important to me. It’s sad that I don’t get to spend my time on a day to day basis with them. I am always so welcomed and loved when I come and visit. I feel so at home here in Mexico. I’ve been coming since I was a little baby. My roots are here (half of them), but so is a huge chunk of my heart. I am so affectionate towards my family, I always have been. I love to stay close to them and hug them tightly. I especially love taking pictures of them and with them. The feeling of being reunited with those whom you love is such a beautiful, and feeling. The tight hugs, the sigh of relief and the “it’s so good that you’re here!” Are what make me happy to be in the presence of each of my family members. Of course after being gone for so long, I have lost a few family members and things have changed, but what hasn’t changed is the unity of my family. Things happen, so they all come together and make something work. I have a very strong family, and I am thankful every day that I am part of them and that they are all ok. My days here have been so joyful, going and seeing new places, and revisiting old ones. Spending quality time with my family where we catch up and just laugh and reminisce about good ol times is what I have enjoyed most. Being in the arms of my aunts makes me feel so at home and so loved. I can’t forget to mention the food!! I love the food, especially the homemade food!

God knew I needed this trip. I need my family and my family needs me. I can’t wait for what the future holds for my family and I and what plans God has for me and my beautiful state of Sonora.
