Behold, I make all things new – Revelation 21:5

First of all, I want to wish you all a very happy and blessed New Year! I cannot begin to describe how excited I am about this New Year! It’s the start of a new chapter in the book of life. And who better to write it than God!!!

I think it’s a wonderful way to think about life, to think about the beginning of a new year. It’s where the chapter begins, while the rest is still unwritten. Every page of the calendar is blank. Every diet is successful. Every checkbook is balanced. Here and now we all begin anew.

And what a great timing that the Church has dedicated the beginning of a new year, with Our Mother Mary. In her we see the ultimate vessel of possibility. The world was given a new start. With Mary’s own purity, God’s giving us all a second chance. On this year we can accomplish anything with God by our side.

We are all accustomed to make new year’s resolutions, but this year I challenge you to make a different kind of resolution. Dwell in possibility: see every day as a fresh new start, trusting that God will see you through it. Embrace the chances. Embrace what Mary represents.

Leave everything up to God and take it as it comes. I know that somedays we will fall, but try your hardest to believe in His will. All the other resolutions we make are important, and in many cases needed, but if we aren’t committed to continually grow in love with Christ than we aren’t improving our whole self.

It’s 2017, make this year count. I pray that you will improve the areas that will deepen your walk with Christ. This chapter in the book is still unwritten, how will you fill the pages?
