In case you’ve forgotten

In Genesis 1, 26-27 “God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground.’ God created man in the image of himself, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.”

In case you’ve forgotten — In Genesis, it tells us that we were created in the image of God.  From the very moment, you were created you were worthy and deserving of all the love your heart can receive.  We were created out of love and every single moment even without you doing anything or having anything or being something, you are ready to love and be loved. There is no need to convince or beg anybody for love.

14678116_10210445044391743_1417595476_oFor weeks I have been everywhere with my emotions and thoughts, putting my heart and security on things that were transitional. I always tend to get stressed and worry about things that are not even on my plate, about tomorrow, and what things I can stop doing to not trigger migraines. This past weekend I had the chance to disconnect from the world – phone, social media, and everything that was drowning me. I have the certainty that Jesus was there with me and telling me to let everything go and trust in him; it was just incredible. I really just need time with him away from everything and everyone and do what I most enjoy doing; to know Him better and make Him known.

We are constantly being told that we can’t change who we are because that’s just you… but you are not anxiety or insecurity or anger or guilt, or a race or a religion, you a human being. Yes, a human being full of all emotions and many flaws but overall you are love, you are worthy, you are deserving of love!

The question is now, are you willing to change? To be loved? To treat yourself with dignity? Remember, we are created in the image of God.
