I’m on a journey. The battle of faith. That’s what’s happening in this journey of mine. There are ups and downs. Sometimes it’s good, really good but there’s also some bad days. I’m glad it’s this way. Walking with Christ means being there through it all. He is the way, the truth and the life. I’m just a broken person who fell in love with Him despite of the world’s ideologies. I have a small mind to have the capacity of understanding His immense love. He knows my heart and mind better than I do. He calls me out in the most humble ways ever.
As I was reading the scriptures, Luke chapter 15, Jesus was telling the parable of a father and his two sons. The younger son just wants his inheritance and the older one is always there with his father. As I continued reading I realized I was both the younger and older son in the story. I have one foot into my life of faith and the other foot into my life of this world. In my humanness, I feel like there has to be a good reason why God loves me so much, but there doesn’t have to be a reason to earn or deserve the love of our Father.
He’s looking out, just like the father did in this parable and always tells the ones close to Him, “all I have is yours.” He receives me with His arms wide open, loving me, and kissing me, saying my child I will always love you and no matter what, I want you to fully enter into my embrace. I’ve been so blessed to learn at such a young age where true happiness and forgiveness comes from.
Despite of failing, stumbling and being broken, I’m not going anywhere. I finally found the presence of God, the only place I want to be while I’m a recovering sinner, being treated with mercy and love. We’re not perfect, life takes some wild turns, but God is always meeting us where we are in our journey of faith.
So keep fighting and take a leap of faith!
“We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures; we are the sum of the Father’s love for us and our real capacity to become the image of his Son.” St. Paul II
