I’m grateful to say that I’ll be turning 22 tomorrow. Whoot  Whoot! As you all know when birthdays come around that’s when everyone remembers to thank Jesus for another year. Surely enough I was one of them. A few days ago my friends through a text message chat were all super excited for my birthday. Planning to throw a “surprise party” yet I was in the chat! Anyhow, it got me thinking – if they’re excited why am I not feeling all that excited? I was sitting reminiscing all I’ve done in this past year. God has given me so much.  All these great memories and not so great started playing in my head. One particular memory that brings me so much joy was when I got the chance to see Pope Francis. I was privileged to witness God’s immense love for His children and to share my faith with hundreds of thousands of Catholics!

As another year has approached in my life, I need to start thanking Him daily. Thank Him for giving me another day to live, providing me with a job, giving me food, having a healthy life, my family and friends, because I’m not guaranteed another day! He acts in the simplest ways to say “I love you” so why not thank Him!  And you may ask, are you excited now? In fact, I am because I came to an end result that God day by day wakes me up and shows me His love and mercy. To me, that’s His excitement showing, so I should definitely be too! That’s why we’re here: to receive His love and mercy, so we can be able to go forward with His mission! Yes, He knows that we as humans we will fall, but I can guarantee you that He’ll be there to help you get back up. Life is a beautiful mess in where you’ll sin and be forgiven (confession). It’s a win-win situation because He’ll love you always! This year has been an amazing year, from going to California, seeing Juanes, to quitting my job, going to Philly, and getting a new job. I experience His mercy for me, His funny ways of doing things (He’s a pretty funny guy!!), and overall His love!
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18, Be joyful always; pray continually; give
thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ
