sprout of LOVE

This past week we witness the greatest act of love in the history of humanity! I know, I know, you’ve probably heard of it a million times, but it’s never enough! Because Jesus, the man that that died on that cross, will never get tired of loving us! A few years ago when I accepted his love, I could never imagine or grasp the idea of doubting His love, EVER!

As I was living my life I was slowly getting further and further away from His love. Why! Why did I doubt, why was I walking away? The questions remained until I finally realized how immense His love is! Back when I “accepted” His love it felt great, but I really didn’t strive to keep the feeling up. The only day I would remember about Him were Sunday’s. Never during the week would I stop and say, Oh thanks Jesus for loving me! I was focused in another idea of love, “artificial love”, I was dressing or acting a certain way or doing certain things to gain the love and admiration of others. See that was the problem, I was stuck on that idea of love that I spent more time trying to get love from others for at least a second, and never realized that the greatest and truest love was always thinking of me.

It was hard to believe that someone would die for me when I only saw the “artificial love” and not the sacrificial and lasting love. When I finally came to a slight understanding of His love, because it’s so immense, nothing else was sufficient!

Now when I doubt or think of walking away I look at the cross and I see him loving me!

Contemplation of this great love brings a hope and joy to my heart that nothing can destroy it. It is the joy of feeling God’s love, a love that can transform my whole life.

John 3,16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that all who believe in him may not perish, but may have eternal life.”
